Artist's Description

It was a cold fall morning when I painted this sycamore tree by the side of the trail going down to Montezuma's Well in Arizona. The leaves were turning rust red and golden. This area is magical, having been used by the Sinagua Indians many centuries ago and now preserved as a National Monument in the National park Service system.

Gurukirn Khalsa

Gurukirn Kaur Khalsa has been an artist since she was a child. She attended the Ethel Walker boarding school in Connecticut where she focused her energy on the creative arts, especially painting and poetry. After boarding school, she attended Pomona College in Claremont, CA. and later transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara where she graduated with a BA in Art in 1974 and received her Teacher’s Credential in 1975. Gurukirn Kaur, an artist and poet, pursues her passion for watercolor as a juried member of the Arizona Watercolor Association, Arizona Artists Guild, andTucson Plein Air Painters Society.
